Production Preparation

Pre-Shoot Primer

What to expect during your shoot.

The team at Kana is looking forward to producing media for you that is specific to your practice! A member of our Media Production team will be at your location to shoot photos and video soon, and in preparation for their arrival, here is some information on how to make the shoot a successful one.

Schedule

Shoot Day Schedule

Our shoots usually last 3 hours and include 4k sequences shot with a professional full-frame cinema camera, drone, as well as high-resolution photos. we ask that there be a single point of contact for shoot planning and management of personnel on shoot day. This can be a practice manager, front office staff member, or even a doctor.

Phase 1 - Location (1 Hour)

Upon arriving at your practice, we’ll begin our shoot with a focus on the interior and exterior photos and videos of your office. This typically includes the building, signage, entrance, waiting room, front desk, operatories, hallways, decor, and any other details that make your office unique.

Phase 2 - Interactions and Technology Use (90 Minutes)

Our goal is to document the patient journey and help visitors get to know your practice before they’ve even arrived. For our designated “patient,” we would love to feature your actual patients in your footage, as long as they have a waiver for their appearance; otherwise, having some office staff act as patients is just fine, as well.

Scenes We'll Capture...

We'll need at least 1 Patient, Front Desk, Assistant/Hygienist, and Doctor
  • Front desk greeting
  • Patient in waiting room
  • Patient being called back
  • Patient and Assistant walking
  • Patient in chair with hygienist
  • Patient in chair with doctor
  • Doctor explaining treatment
  • Special technology usage

Phase 3 - Team Headshots (30 Minutes)

To finish off our production schedule, we’ll take headshots of all participating team members last.

Phase 4 - Office Spotlight (Add On Service Only, 1-2 hours)

If you’ve purchased add on production service, we’ll need additional time to set up and conduct our interview. Please ensure that your office does not have prior obligations for this time slot as background noise may be audible and can’t always be edited out of our recordings.
